Canoe Night 2011

Nipissing University         Friday, 29 April

Picture
Canoe Night is set to go for another year. Please join us for two great presentations on canoeing and Northern Ontario.

Darren Makarenko will be sharing some of his outstanding images of Northern Ontario canoe routes.
Having won a Canadian Geographic award for his photography and been published in Canoe & Kayak his images are already well known to many outdoor enthusiasts.

Craig MacDonald was the creator of the Nastawgan canoe routes map of the Temagami area, compiled from conversations with First Nation elders over almost twenty years.
Truly a labour of love the map records and and portages in their original Ojibway names at pre-hydro dam lake levels. Craig  has been recognized for his work as an honourary Ojibway.

Canoe night admission is free (although we usually try to raffle off a few great canoe items)   and starts with Darren Makarenko at  6:30 p.m.   Canoe night is also a great time to take out a "Friends of La Vase" membership and support our conservation efforts.
