Brandy Lake Trail Bridge

Remnants of the old log and plank bridge can be seen below the new tamarack beams being laid in place by Bernie Stockermans and Fred McNutt. The new bridge will help with non-motorized access to the trails area behind Brandy Lake off of Highway 17.

Built to Last

Tamarack is surprisingly strong and and the structure is expected to last for many years. From left to right Friends of La Vase Fred McNutt, Greg and Bernie Stockermans and Cliff Moulder, all Friends of La Vase Portages.

Putting It To The Test

Crew members bravely try out the new bridge, handrails are to be installed shortly and the bridge will be designed to barr motorized traffic - hikers and dogs only please.
