Formally established in 2006

• to promote the protection of a useable portage from Trout Lake to Lake Nipissing that will reasonably reproduce the Voyageur experience. 

• To advocate for the protection of the land and waterways associated with the portages and trails.

• To provide trails for multiple season non-motorized use and such other complimentary purposes not inconsistent with these objectives.
